Mackay Corporate Social Golf

Mackay Golf Club’s revamped Business House competition is now branded as “Mackay Corporate Social Comp” for the 2018 year. The competition itself remains as a business oriented social team’s event held on one Sunday each month weather permitting. With teams of four, bring your friends, family or colleagues to take on the 4 person Ambrose format competition.

Registration is at 6:30am with a shotgun start tee off at 7am. Dependent upon numbers the Mackay Golf Club may provide either a drinks cart or alternatively there will be refreshments available through our well stocked “Spike Bar”. All this whilst your team tackles the beautiful fairways of Mackay City’s premier and only 18 hole golf course. Lunch is provided and included in the fees for all players with plenty of prizes up for grabs along with random draws at the post-golf presentation.

From the everyday golfer to the casual chopper, the new and rebranded Mackay Corporate Social Comp suits all skill levels and is designed to get you out on the course for a bit of fun between friends.

Don’t have any clubs?

No problem, just call the boys at We’R’Golf on 4942 1362 and book a set of clubs. If you need a pull buggy they have them too.

If you’re too slack to walk you can book a motorised cart for you and a mate. Be sure to book as carts are popular and get reserved quickly.

How to get involved

Simple! Fill out the team nomination form above to register your team of four each competition day. Don’t worry if all of your team mates can’t make every event, you are more than welcome to find a sub-in.

If your whole team can’t make it for a Mackay Corporate Social Comp day don’t sweat! Just come to the next one, you’re always welcome.

Shotgun Starts

In layman terms, a shotgun start is just everyone starting at the same time.

Handicap

Add each players handicap together and divide the total by 8. If you don’t have a handicap then we’ll give you a 27 to get started.

Ambrose Event

An Ambrose is a great format to get everyone involved; all four team members play their tee shots. The best tee shot is selected and the other three players pick up their ball.

All four players then play their second shot from within one club length of the selected ball and so on, until you reach the green. Only the selected shots count.

After the 18 holes have been completed,
the team’s gross score is totalled.
