The Wintersun Carnival is held annually at five different golf courses in and around Mackay over nine days:

2010 Program

In 2010, the Wintersun Carnival will be held from Monday 2nd August 2010 to Tuesday 10th August 2010.

The nomination form includes an area for requests for motorised buggies.  In most cases, your requests can be catered for, but cannot be guaranteed.  A modest fee is usually charged, which goes to reimburse the owner.  This fee is paid on the day and NOT as part of your nomination.

  Other NQ Events

Note that there are usually other events on the North Queensland calendar which may be of interest during your visit to North Queensland.  The dates for some of these events may not yet be finalised, and it is recommended that you contact the club direct if you are interested in playing in those events.

Conditions of Play
  1. Each player must be a financial member of a registered Golf Club and have a current Golf Australia.

  2. Each player must be a financial member of a Veteran or Lady Veterans Golf Club.

  3. Priority will be given to players nominating for both Proserpine and Mackay and only after all entries are received will places at Proserpine or Mackay be allocated if there are vacancies.

  4. Handicaps for the 72-hole event, the Proserpine 36 hole event and the Mackay 36 hole event are frozen from the start of play at Proserpine.

  5. The rules of Golf shall apply and any local rules that are in operation at the time of the event.

  6. A player can win only one major trophy at each 18 or 36 hole event. The 72 hole championship played in grades is a separate event run by Proserpine and Mackay Veterans.

  7. Nominations close Sunday 25th July 2010.  All fees must be paid with the Entry Form. No fees can be refunded after Sunday 25th July 2010.

Nomination forms, in PDF format suitable for printing, will published on this site for download in late May.  Nomination Fees MUST accompany the nomination or be directly credited to the Carnival bank account - details on the Nomination Form.

Draws for each competition will be published for your convenience on this web site several days prior to the event.

The organisers will attempt to arrange the hire of motorised buggies for competitors where required.  Please note, however, that at some courses, the availability of buggies is limited, and early nomination with your buggy request is suggested.

Whilst the organisers will make every effort to allocate a special tee time requested for medical reasons, we cannot guarantee that your request can be met.
